Zotac GTS 450 ZONE Silent Edition, Totally Fanless

In these lean times for graphics cards, Zotac is trying to bring some entertainment with its new GeForce GTS 450 ZONE Edition Silent. As the name implies, this card features an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 and you’ll understand that it is also completely fanless, so totally silent.

Technically, nothing very original as the award-winning GTS 450 has its 192 cores and its powered by 1GB of DDR3 128bit. The use of a fanless solution prompted the manufacturer to run the chip at 600MHz and the shaders at 1200 MHz, while the original frequencies are respectively 783 and 1566 MHz. This however, should not interfere too much the main target of this graphic card since it does not apply to gamers, but mainly HTPC enthusiasts who want a Home Cinema silent card capable of playing any Full HD movie completely fluid. For this, the GTS 450 ZONE Edition is perfec and may also be connected to an HDTV through its DVI, HDMI or Display Port connector. Best of all, it supports 3D, but its a shame that the cooler is a dual slot model and the card seems to be large. If this is not a much concern in a conventional sized cases, this format might face some difficulties in terms of compatibility with small cases.
