Xigmatek Gigas: a very compact aluminum case for an HTPC

A new case has just appeared in the catalog of Xigmatek: the Gigas. Cube format, it is primarily designed for users who want a game or living-room space-saving machine, for example. It has several 2.5″, 3.5″ and 5.25″ places , but also four 120 mm fans, not to mention the presence of USB 3.0 connectors on the outside. This model is very compact, since its dimensions are 278 x 322 x 396 mm. Unfortunately, there is no information about his weight. In terms of compatibility, you can install only the motherboard Mini ITX formats, as well as those in Micro ATX.

As the Lian Li PC-V353, the Gigas takes the form of a cube. The design is generally very good, there are openings in the honeycomb airflow on the front and side door on the left. Note that this model, like Lian Li, is all aluminum. Inside, we have two cages with three 3.5″ spots and one in 2.5″ each. The assembly is made with  anti-vibration rubber washers, and using conventional screws. As for 5.25″ spots, two are available.

Regrettably, the manufacturer offers no overview picture of the interior. We know, however, that the wheelbase for the graphics card is 330 mm and the height available for the CPU cooler is 160 mm.

Below, the composition of the cooling system:

  • Front: 2 x 120 mm (1000 rpm) (included)
  • Rear: 2 x 120 mm (1000 rpm) (included)

If the external connections are fine with USB 3.0, inside you only hve one connection. It also includes two USB 2.0 connectors, audio jacks and the headphone and microphone.

For now, the manufacturer does not mention the availability date, much less the price. Note that this model will be available in gray and black. It must wait for the first review to learn more about its qualities and defects.
