Xebec Tech M-Touch Buttonless Wireless Mouse

Xebec Tech decided to take things one step further and do away with what is very well the defining trait of mice in general.

The surface of this timelessly stylish mouse incorporates high-precision touch sensors that recognise your finger movements and translate these into commands.

Described in detail here, the M-Touch lacks actual buttons, relying solely on touch input for function recognition.

Simple taps one the left/right areas of the touch interface can emulate left clicks and double clicks, while scrolling can be done in any direction by moving a single finger across the surface. Also, zooming can be done by doing the above while holding down the keyboard’s control key.

Finally, by swiping two fingers horizontally, one can go forward and backwards through windows already visited, in browsers.

The 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity technology is used (the operational range is 8 meters), along with a 1000 DPI optical sensor, a nano receiver and a power saving mode, plus an on/off switch, to let the two AAA batteries last for a long time. The mouse is plug and play, just plug in the nano receiver to the USB port of your computer and you’re good to go.

Left click function

  • Click and double-click by tapping anywhere on the left side of the multi-touch mouse surface

Right click function

  • Click by tapping anywhere on the right side of the multi touch mouse surface

Horizontal scroll function

  • A single finger moving horizontally across the surface will scroll a window left or right

Vertical scroll function

  • A single finger moving vertically a long the surface will scroll a window up or down.

Screen zoom function

  • Hold down the control key on your keyboard and scroll with one finger on the multi-touch surface to enlarge items on your screen.

Two-finger horizontal swipe funtion

  • Use two fingers to swipe left and right a long the multi-touch surface to go forwards and backwards through windows that you’ve recently viewed.
