XBMC celebrates 10 years: new PVR function and Raspberry Pi support

XBMC celebrates 10 years and secondarily to remind us just how quickly time passes, for it was called at its beginning Xbox Media Player before finally changing its name in 2006.

And for this decade, the developers are offering a new XBMC update with a novelty that many of us expected, the PVR in order to watch TV, access to an EPG and program recordings from the software. The add-on is actually as frontend, it will always go through a compilation by hand, a manipulation reserved for those who love to get their hands dirty. For others, the function should become more accessible as the updates will being released.

Second novelty, Raspberry Pi support in XBMC 11.0 which used to have it’s own path, not to mention some improvements in tags or interface.

Happy Birthday XBMC.
