Vivitek presents its new Qumi Q2-L projector, a little more accessible variation of a Qumi Q2 classic version. It still uses a DLP chip and is DLP Link 3D compatible, but it loses, however, the card reader. This is almost one of the unique differences between the two models, with the lack of external battery and WiFi dongle.
The Qumi Q2-L is capable of projecting in a 720p resolution on a basis of 1 to 3 meters, but it is also 3D compatible but without being able to connect to a Blu-ray 3D or PS3 except for 2D content. With a contrast of 2500:1 and a light output of 300 lumens, the claims are obviously limited, but may be sufficient in some cases, provided they remain in the dark. The life of the lamp is advertised as 30,000 hours.
Connectivity: there are Mini-HDMI port, an universal port convertible into VGA or YUV, a composite video input, and an audio minijack output.
The Vivitek Qumi Q2-L will be available in October at a price of only 399 euros.
