Via Technologies introduces a new ultra compact computer.
Named ARMTiGO A800, it shows the size of 12 x 12,5 x 3 cm. It has a fanless design for quiet operation and an running energy consumption of only 3.14 Watts, but it can easily handle 1080p HD video playback, so it fits any HTPC requirements.
On board, there is a Pico-ITX motherboard that hosts an ARM Cortex-A8 800MHz Freescale processor, a 1 GB DDR3-800 RAM and 4 GB flash memory. You can also place a hard drive or SSD to in a 2.5-inch format.
In terms of connectivity, there is a RJ-45 network port, headphone/microphone audio jacks, VGA/HDMI video jacks, microSD reader and four USB 2.0 ports. The wireless network connection Wi-Fi is also possible, with an optional module.
The Via Technologies ARMTiGO A800 can run on Android or Linux environment to classic use, like office, or more specific uses such as kiosks, payment system in commerce, digital signage, video surveillance or home media player such as HTPC.
