The Xiaomi Box tackles Apple TV

Xiaomi that is known for its smartphones, recently unveiled the Xiaomi Box, a multimedia box (audio, video and photo playback) that attacks the Apple TV or the Google TV.

With a pebble-shaped design, the Xiaomi Box supports AirPlay, DLNA or even Miracast, has the famous MIUI interface, a Cortex A9 processor clocked at 800MHz with 1GB of RAM, an Ethernet port or WiFi 802.11n, AV and HDMI 1.3 outputs and a USB host port (microUSB), and offers compatibility with Android applications and games. It supports H.264, VC-1, WMV-HD, MPEG1/2/4, Real 7/8/9 video codecs, MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC audio as well as JPG, MP, GIF and PNG images

The Xiaomi Box will be available in December in Asia for about $50!
