XBMC 12.1 is now available
XBMC has the 12.1 version available to their users. The main winners of this update are the Mac and iOS users, almost 50% of these developments are related to Apple devices.
These are the main changes:
XBMC now supports using OSX’s default output device for audio as well as hardware decoding with Intel GPUs in OSX
XBMC no longer hogs audio for Linux and on resume audio will continue to work in Linux
Full iPhone 5 resolution is now enabled
Volume buttons on Android devices now control Android volume, rather than XBMC volume
Volume buttons on OSX devices once again control OSX volume, rather than XBMC volume

MediaPortal 1.3 final version has arrived
After a few short months of waiting between the Beta and RC, the MediaPortal Media Center software is now available in its 1.3.0 final version, and changes in this new version are more consistent as we had previously been able to glimpse.
The Media Portal 1.3 now has a new Titan skin specially adapted to 1080p Full HD at 16/9. For 720p at 16/9 displays, default skins will be most suitable. We also note the full compatibility with Windows 8, and native support for Blu-ray, but still no Java menus, a system issue that the MP Team tries to correct. A new “MPAR” (MediaPortal Audio Renderer) also appeared to improve the management of codecs and can play 23.976 FPS 25 FPS videos....
XBMC 12 Frodo: final version available
Frodo, the version 12 of the XBMC media center is available in its final version with, among others, HD audio support and DVR functionality.
In version 12, the media player can display a live TV stream and has digital recording features. This means that it will be possible for example to pause a live broadcast and enable time shifting via a caching mechanism.
Also a translation system provided by Transifex, XBMC has a new audio engine which supports the Dolby TrueHD and the DTS-MA codecs. Note also that the player is compatible with Hi10P, the 10-bit profile of the H.264 codec used in some cartoons.
