Shuttle XH61: Sandy Bridge HTPC

It’s name is XH61, and it includes a H61 chipset, an H67 limited version, the impasse is mainly in the connectors and some features. This barebone is included in Shuttle’s slim PC series.

The XH61 adopts a slim format, it can be positioned vertically (note the support is optional), or horizontally, it is very compact, it is 242 mm x 200 mm x 73 mm. The front panel hides the front connectors and the slim optical drive. Two USB 2.0 and two audio jacks are present for connections on the fly.

The motherboard is in mini-ITX format and is built around an H61 Express chipset and a LGA115 socket, it is compatible with  i3, i5 and i7 within a TDP of 65 Watts max.

It has two slots for DDR3 in dual channel memory type, the maximum capacity is 2 x 8 GB PC3-10600. Four SATA II connectors are present, noted that two SATA cables are supplied, one for the slim optical drive. A RJ45 compatible gigabit is present, the audio system is based on a 7.1 887 RealtekALC 887 chipset.

The input devices are connected via two PS/2, the video outputs are represented by an HDMI 1.4 and a VGA. The graphics chipset is the Intel 2000/3000 with a shared memory of 1692 MB max. Maximum resolutions are 1920 x 1200 for the HDMI and 2048 x 1536 for D-Sub.

This is a barebone so we must add the processor, hard drive or SSD 2.5-inch format and memory. The XH61 is available for a price of $215.
