Shuttle SZ77R5: a barebone ready for Ivy Bridge

Shuttle prepares itself for the release of new Intel processors…

The Taiwanese Shuttle exhibits at CeBIT its XPC SZ77R5 barebone whose motherboard has a LGA 1155 socket and a “Panther Point” Intel Z77 chipset… Thus making it the first Shuttle ready to welcome the Ivy Bridge processor engraved in 22nm and compatible with Sandy Bridge. There are also four DIMM slots that can accommodate the DDR3-1600. The problem, however, is that the PCI Express x16 is limited to the Gen 2.0. This box allows you to install a dual-slot graphics card.

There are also two SATA II connectors and two SATA III, two mini PCIe 2.0 x1 supporting the mSATA and a PCIe x4 slot on the second (and therefore unusable in the case of the use of a dual-slot graphics card). The audio circuit is a Realtek ALC885 and the Gigabit Ethernet controller it’s also a Realtek. This SZ77R5 Shuttle has four USB 3.0 ports including two on the front. In the back it offers DVI and HDMI outputs. The power supply delivers an output of 550W 80Plus Bronze.

We do not yet know when and how to come out this barebone.
