Shuttle should introduce a new mini PC, the DS47, at Computex in June. Equipped with an Intel Celeron 847, this model stands out above all by its little jig. Another advantage is its external connectivity that is particularly generous with two USB 3.0 ports, two gigabit network and HDMI 1.4a.
Shuttle is currently preparing the DS47 mini PC that will be officially presented at Computex, Taiwan which takes place between 4 and 8 June. But our colleagues at FanlessTech have already unveiled some information about it. Thus, we know that the case is quite compact, because its measurements are 200 x 165 x 39.5 mm with a weight of 2.05 kg. The frame is made of steel, while certain parts, such as the feet, are made of plastic.
Within this frame, there is a motherboard equipped with an Intel Celeron processor 847 that runs on 1.1 GHz dual-core and featuring an HD Graphics. Among the few information disclosed, we know it has two slots for DDR3@1333 MHz, which must surely be on SO-DIMM (the format is not given), two mini PCIe (one mSATA enabled) and a SATA 6 Gb/s port. This machine can also accommodate one 2.5″ storage device.
Despite its compact size, this mini PC has a more than complete external connectivity. On the front, you are entitled to four USB 2.0 ports, two serial ports and a 4-in-1 card reader. At the rear, there are two video outputs (DVI and HDMI 1.4a), two USB 3.0 ports and two gigabit network.
We will have to wait patiently until Computex to get some more information on technical specifications, as well as its price and date of availability.
