After enjoying success with its D8000 and D7000 televisions, Samsung’s latest offering is the new D6500, also available as the white D6510. It’s a more affordable 3D TV with Edge LED backlighting, and has most of the same features as its big brothers, including the Smart TV interface giving access to online content including social networks, app downloads, videos and general surfing. It also has some advanced technology that should allow it to produce an exceptionally good picture.

Pros
Great picture in 2D and 3D
Accurate colour reproduction (average deltaE: 2.3) and high contrast (ratio: 2630:1)
Powerful Motion Plus 200 filter
Low energy consumption: 75 W
Good media player with support for lots of video formats
Cons
Glossy screen picks up reflections
Viewing angles too narrow
Crosstalk leads to viewers seeing double in 3D
Clouding on our test unit
Resolution halved in 3D: 1920 x 540 pixels
Conclusion
The D6500 has a good picture in 2D. In 3D, though, the resolution is halved to 1920 x 540 pixels and the crosstalk is a little too noticeable. It’s still a decent choice for anybody who wants a slim TV for a reasonable price.
