Patriot Pyro SE with Synchronous NAND Support

The storage solution vendor Patriot Memory has announced its new line of SSDs, the Patriot Pyro SE, which by their specifications and memories architecture come directly to compete on price and performance with the Corsair GT Force units, since they add as main improvement the synchronous NAND memory support, unlike current Patriot Pyro models that use asynchronous NAND memory.

These Patriot units come with 6.0Gbps Serial ATA (SATA-III) and integrate a SandForce SF-2281 controller. In addition to integrating synchronous NAND memory architecture, they also include other technologies such as TRIM support, DuraWrite and DuraClass technologies that ensure greater reliability for the memories.

Thanks to these improvements these drives support speeds of 550MB/s read and 520MB/s for writing, with 85,000 IOPS in sequential write (4K). The new Patriot Pyro SE will come in capacities of 60, 120 and 240GB and as the Corsair Force GT series, pointing to a more aggressive price and performance than asynchronous memory-based models, such as current Pyro product range.

Patriot Pyro SE Main Features

  • 120 GB and 240 GB capacities
  • SandForce SF-2281 SSD processor
  • SATA 6.0 Gbps interface
  • Up to 550MB/s sequential read speeds
  • Up to 520MB/s sequential write speeds
  • Maximum 4K random write: 85,000 IOPS
  • TRIM Support
