OCZ Z-Drive R3 High Speed PCI-Express SSD

OCZ released a new enterprise-class SSD that called the OCZ Z-Drive R3, featuring SMART monitoring and Windows 7 TRIM support.

The OCZ Z-Drive R3 SSD is claimed read and write speed of 1,000 MB/s and 970 MB/s.


It is also using two or four (depending on version) SandForce SF-1565 controllers configured in a RAID setup. The Z-Drive R3 drive is provides PCI-Express x8 interface and OCZ’s VCA (Virtualized Controller Architecture) technology. OCZ Z-Drive R3 SSD has features 135,000 IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) for 4KB random writes and 10 million hours in MTBF (mean time before failure).It has also Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and Tagged Command Queuing (TCQ), which is allowing drive to handle multiple requests sent to processor, and determine priorities for achieves the maximum speed.

The new solid state drive is comes with capacity of 300GB, 600GB, and 1.2TB, but there is no word on pricing yet.
