Myka ION – The Fanless Nettop

A new Ion-based nettop appeared on the market: Myka ION. Featuring an dual-core Atom N330 processor, up to 4 Gb of RAM and HDDs from 160 Gb to 1 Tb, the nettop has a fanless architecture. In terms of connectivity, no less than 10 USB2.0 ports are available, as well as eSATA, VGA, DVI, HDMI, S/PDIF ports.

What’s interesting about this nettop is the intended usage – as a HTPC (home-theater PC). This is reflected by the fanless approach which will insure minimal noise and by the plethora of multimedia-dedicated applications: Boxee, XBMC, Hulu Desktop.

This looks very attractive, but a problem: If you read the forums, buyers have not received units. I hope this resolves as I would buy too, but I am not holding my breath.

In particular I have not found a back-panel photo anywhere. The back panel photo which Htpc Reviews shows is the plain Myka, not the ION. Note the different height/width ratio, from the front photo. And the ION is supposed to have VGA and DVI connectors e.g. See:

Too bad, so far at least.

      Thank you Paul

Good observation. All our sources shows the backpanel like this one. Without DVI.
