Motorola VAP2400 Wireless Video Bridge

Motorola Mobility introduces the VAP2400 wireless video bridge solution, a wireless access device capable of transmitting extremely reliable and high-quality video content over Wi-Fi spectrum throughout the home.

The video bridge is a 4×4 MIMO 802.11n solution supporting multiple concurrent HD and SD streaming and Full HD 1080p resolution.

It work in his own Frequency Band (4.900-5.850 GHz) to allow better separation between Data and Video applications, and is able to stream through walls, doors or other physical structures.

The Motorola VAP2400 includes WPA2/WPA/AES/WEP-128/WEP-64 security, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and also includes Auto-mode detection, and supports TR-069 Remote management and HTTP-based GUI management.

The Motorola VAP2400 is expected to be available for delivery globally from Q3 2011.

It’s not clear at this moment however whether this will be a direct to consumer device or something offered by cable companies around the world, however it’s completely plausible that Motorola could use such a device to allow you to stream content from your PVR to the company’s tablet, the Motorola Xoom.
