Mini-ITX Cedar Trail from ASRock

ASRock has just put on its website three Mini-ITX motherboards models including the new generation of Intel Atom, the Cedar Trail, engraved in 32nm and officially launched at the end of September.

AD2500B-ITX and AD2700B-ITX

There are two models of first entry, the AD2500B-ITX and the AD-2700B-ITX. These are a relatively basic models with two SO-DIMM memory slots and a PCI slot. About storage, They have two SATA 3.0 connectors managed by the chipset. The audio is controlled by a VIA VT1705 chipset. On the video side, they have only a VGA port on these models. Two differences still to be noted, the embedded processors are different (D2500 and D2700): the network controller (Realtek 8105E 100 Mbit against Realtek 8111E Gigabit Ethernet) and also the presence of two USB 3.0 ports managed by a ASMedia ASM1042 controller on the second.

The most interesting model is the AD2700-ITX. Tt uses the same overall design, but we note some interesting differences as the presence of a DVI and HDMI (usable simultaneously) in addition to VGA. On the audio side we go to Realtek ALC892 codec and you win a S/PDIF on the rear in addition to the of 7.1 management.

The price of different models and availability are yet unknown.
