Logitech Wireless Keyboard K270 Launched

Computers have invaded the living room with the advent of affordable HTPCs and large-screen HDTVs that double up as PC monitors. Wireless input devices, therefore, are imperative if you don’t fancy peering at a 42″ screen from three feet away. Logitech has our bases covered in this regard with its latest Wireless Keyboard K270. It includes a glitch-free 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity that’s good for 10 m. This should suffice, unless you intend to hook your laptop up to the neighbourhood cinema screen. It resembles an entry-level full-size Logitech keyboard sans the wires. However, unlike its spartan brethren, the K270 includes a row of Media Keys at the top. That’s Logitech throwing us a bone to justify an MRP of $30.

The wireless dongle provided is tiny and is dubbed the Unifying receiver to remind us that it is compatible with some Logitech wireless mice, potentially saving you a USB port. Being wireless it requires batteries. However, Logitech claims that the K270 will chug along for up to two years before they need replacement. This keyboard makes sense for those who need a no-nonsense wireless input device with basic media functions to complement their wireless mouse.
