LG LEX8 – 400 Hz, Full LED, Super-Slim 3D TV

We’ve just taken delivery of the LG 47LEX8, a 47-inch 3D TV that’s lined up to rival the Samsung C9000. The LEX8 is also available with a 55-inch screen and features Nano Full LED backlighting (LEDs covering the entire rear of the screen). It has now been whisked off to our test lab so stay tuned for a full review coming soon.

The new backlighting system has allowed LG to reduce the TV’s thickness to just 8.8 mm and the borders of the screen to just 1.25 cm. The LEX8 is 3D-compatible and features TruMotion 400 Hz image processing to keep fast-action films flowing smoothly. It offers direct access to LG’s NetCast web-connected service, is DLNA-compatible and can play HD videos directly from a USB storage device.

UK pricing for the LEX8 series is yet to be confirmed, but the 47-inch model we’ll be testing has been announced at €5,000 (approx. £4,220) in Europe.
