After the F2A85X-UP4, Gigabyte unveils a new FM2 motherboard: the GA-F2A85XM-D3H. As its name suggests, it has the A85X chipset from AMD and is therefore in charge of the AMD’s recent generation Trinity APU. In Micro ATX format, it has a quite complete equipment including eight S-ATA connectors and two 6Gbps PCIe x16 (wired in x16 – x4).
This GA-F2A85XM-D3H motherboard therefore operates a socket FM2. The power stage has six phases for the CPU and two for the memory which is completely free of a cooling system. As with other Gigabyte’s motherboards, it uses “Ultra Durable 4 Classic” components which should, according to the manufacturer, be more resistant. In addition, it is equipped with the “Dual BIOS” and “3D BIOS” interface for UEFI.
Four DDR3 slots (1066, 1333, 1600 and 1866 MHz) on both channels, for a maximum capacity of 64GB. For storage, it features eight S-ATA connectors supporting 6Gbps RAID levels 0 1, 5, 10 and JBOD. Two PCIe 2.0 x16 (wiring: x16 and x4), one PCIe x1 and one PCI are also present.
Connectivity on the back, here its composition:
- 1 x PS/2
- 4 x USB 2.0
- 2 x USB 3.0
- 1 x VGA
- 1 x DVI
- 1 x HDMI 1.4a
- 1 x RJ45 Ethernet
- 3 x audio jacks
- 1 x optical output
Of course, it features a USB 3.0 internal connector, which can connect the plugs of a case which uses this standard, for example. Know that it is possible to connect up to three four-pin fans (“PWM”).
