SilverStone ML05, the return of an affordable and compact HTPC case
With the ML05, SilverStone perhaps will shake a little the compact HTPC case market segment. Announced at 6980 yens, less than $75, it appears to be in a pretty good position, although its reduced size imposes some restrictions. Measuring 350 x 99 x 204mm, it is only compatible with a slim optical drive and a SFX PSU, while storage is allowed only four 2.5″ units. Or almost… As is often happen on the brand, the partial modularity is required, with a slim ODD deck that can accommodate a 3.5″ HDD or two 2.5″ or even a 120mm fan. A fan that might not be too much, but, by default, the airflow entrusted to… No fan! No secret to break prices, both  80mm locations are...

Akasa Galileo and Newton: 2 new passive Thin Mini-ITX and NUC cases
Akasa is preparing two new passive case that will soon be unveiled at Computex, the Galileo in Thin Mini-ITX and the Newton for Intel Next Unit of Computing platforms. The Galileo is a 37 mm thick ultra-slim case, designed for Thin Mini-ITX motherboards as the recent batch of Gigabyte. It is equipped  with a chassis of aluminum fins to dissipate the heat from a CPU with a TDP of 35 Watts. The case is completely fanless, which will also prevent dust from attaching to the components. One last news of SilverStone, with the ML05, we could see a little better than January. A Mini ITX case, which highlights a front mirror, and a very nice design.
