I-O Data has announced the availability of the BRD-U8DM external Blu-ray drive and DVR-U24DM external DVD burner, which support DTCP-IP.
The DTCP-IP is a specification for copy protection of copyrighted content that is transferred over digital interfaces in home networks that adhere to IP.
Under this specification, digital content can be shared securely between devices in a user’s home but not shared with third-parties outside the home network.

Buffalo BRXL-PC6U2-BK Slim External BDXL Burner
Buffalo announced in Japan a new slim external Blu-ray burner, the BRXL-PC6U2-BK with support for high-capacity BDXL media. The BDXL is triple-layer/quad-layer Blu-ray Disc format that offers 100GB/125GB of capacity. Buffalo’s slim burner can write BD-R QL and BD-R TL at up to 4X as well as BD-R, BD-R DL at 6x, BD-RE and BD-RE TL/DL at 2x.
The 19mm thick Buffalo BRXL-PC6U2-BK use USB 2.0 interface and in order to utilize full capability of the drive, you need to plug the secondary USB 2.0 connection for power. The burner also supports DVD recording and CD recording. It comes with CyberLink’s media suite.
