Asus C60M1-I: In spite of the silence it’s not an HTPC motherboard

Asustek offers a motherboard based on the C-60 APU from AMD. This solution is announced with low energy requirements and a highly silent operation since the APU is passively cooled.

Primarily oriented towards configurations dedicated to the small office, the C60M1-I is a Micro-ATX motherboard with an entirely passive embedded processor. Fanless, it is equipped with a dual-core C-60 Fusion APU clocked at 1 GHz, supported by a Radeon HD 6290, all coupled to a A50M chipset. The SATA 6 Gb/s is in the game with 6 ports alongside 9 USB 2.0 ports, one PCIe x 16 (running at 4x) and VGA and DVI video connectors. Asus therefore ignore the HDMI and USB 3.0. Its solution is therefore not recommended for HTPC use.

It has a price around $80. It is positioned well within the range of aggressive pricing but suffers from a modest power and lack of connectivity.
