ASRock has released a new valuable Mini-ITX motherboard, the AD2700-ITX. Based on the Intel Atom D2700 (Cedarview) processor, this is a multimedia -oriented motherboard, thanks to its high level of connectivity and features: USB 3.0, HDMI, S / PDIF, THX…
The ASRock AD2700-ITX is the CedarTrail generation Mini-ITX motherboard most interesting of the manufacturer, because it’s the best equipped. Its dual core D2700 processor is passively cooled, it integrates a PowerVR SGX545 graphics chip that supports Full HD via its HDMI and DVI (available simultaneously), and decode formats such as the greedy Blu-ray. The card provides two So-Dimm DDR3 ports, six SATA 2 ports and one PCI slot.

There are multimedia features that ASRock usualy uses in its high-end multimedia platforms, namely a Realtek ALC892 audio chip and THX software, a UEFI BIOS, ON:Off Play technologies, App Charger or even Instant Boot. At the rear, connectivity is quite nice, including a triple video output like HDMI 1.3a, DVI and VGA, optical S/PDIF and analog 7.1 audio outputs, 6 USB ports (2 in 3.0), and Gigabit LAN.
This is an interesting Atom Cedar motherboard to build an HTPC, even if it comes without a remote control. We expect to know a little more, especially on its availability and price.
