Acer has announced the release of the first projectors with LED-Laser hybrid technology Full HD 1080p – the K520 and K750. Until now, confined to lower definitions, this projection technique allows for an increase in saturation and low power consumption.
The Acer K520 and K750 projectors therefore benefit from the integration of LED-Laser hybrid DPL technology . They have a dual LED and Laser light source. According to the manufacturer, it can significantly increase the brightness and range of displayed colors. These projectors could provide up to 20 000 hours life of the light sources on ExtremeECO mode and allows up to 90% energy saving. The hybrid LED-Laser provides a wider color range and better color fidelity.
The Acer K750 videoprojector is capable of displaying 1080p images. It can reach a brightness of 1500 lumens and a contrast ratio of 100 000:1. It has two HDMI inputs, a VGA input, composite video input, S-Video input and a PC audio jack input. There is also an 3.5 audio output jack. The projector K750 features instant on/off capability and SmartFormat function that synchronizes the received image with the diffuser to fit the display. The device measures 321x231x87 mm and a weights 4 kg. The Acer K750 video projector is available for about $3000.
The Acer K520 videoprojector that also embeds the LED-Laser DLP technology is limited to a native resolution of 1024×768 pixels, but can display definitions of 1600×1200 or 1920×1080 pixels. It offers a brightness of 2000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 100 000:1. It supports 3D mode and can be used with adapted 3D glasses. You can count on an instant on/off capability as well as the presence of SmartFormat technology. The Acer K520 projector has an HDMI input, a PC input, composite video input, S-Video video input, an RS232 port, audio input jack, an output audio jack and a USB port (type B). It measures 321x231x87 with a weight of 4 kg. The Acer K520 videoprojector is available for about $1500.
